One eye witness who saw a car plough into dozens of counter protesters at a far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday, described the ramming as “an intentional terrorist attack.”
There where many heated arguments between far-right activists and counter-protesters ensued in Charlottesville, Virginia, Saturday, shortly after a car rammed into counter-protesters at the ‘Unite the Right’, killing at least one person and leaving several others injured.
Counter-protester Chuck Boudier put much of the blame on the police, saying “the police did absolutely nothing” to protect counter-protesters.
A helicopter crash that killed the pilot and a passenger later in the afternoon outside the university town also was linked to the rally by State Police, though officials did not elaborate on how the crash was connected.
At a late afternoon news conference, Charlottesville Police Chief Al Thomas said that 35 people had been injured in various confrontations during the rally and made a point of saying that none of those involved his officers.

Earlier on Saturday, police has announced a state of emergency in Charlottesville, Virginia, following violent clashes between far-right activists and counter protesters during the ‘Unite the Right rally’.
Riot police also attended the scene and attempted to dispere the crowds with tear gas.
Prominent figures from the alt-right movement such as Richard Spencer and Mike Enoch were reportedly among those in the demonstration, while the Nationalist Socialist Movement also announced that its members, including its leader Jeff Schoep, would join the rally.
