Podgorica, Montenegro – Thanking the Prime Minister of Montenegro for hospitality, Vice President of the United States of America Mike Pence emphasised that it is a great honour and privilege to be in Montenegro.
“It is a great honour and privilege for me to be the very first Vice President of the United States to visit Montenegro,” Pence said.
Emphasising the equal importance of all US allies, Vice President Pens noted that the United States greatly appreciates Montenegro’s contribution to the NATO alliance.
“I look forward to our continued discussions building on our dinner discussion last night, ways we can further enhance our bilateral ties and further affirm the commitment of the United States of America to the Western Balkans,” Vice President Pence said.

Prime Minister Duško Marković said in a brief press statement that today’s day is a confirmation that in the international community there are no big ones and small ones, except in terms of the territory and the population of a country, but not when it comes to ideals that we cherish.
Thanking US Vice President Mike Pence for a visit, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that today’s talks will additionaly reinforce determination to enrich cooperation of the two countries, primarily in the area of economy.
“I expect an open and concrete exchange of opinions among the leaders of the US-Adriatic Charter at the Special Summit at Hilton Hotel. I wish all of our guests, participants in the Summit, representatives of the media from the region and the United States to have a pleasant stay in Montenegro,”Prime Minister Duško Marković said.
