Refugee crisis and security concerns
Compassion and solidarity yes but should EU increase security measures? Is it possible that ISIS militants or any other groups are among the crowd’s ? If it’s the case then they can move freely through EU setting up and moving their position as player of chess will move them on a chess board? Is somebody taking advantage of this situation ?What will happen next when all the figurines are placed on their position?
Will the game of chess begin?
The ongoing Syrian refugee crisis has renewed concerns Islamic State group fighters could be slipping into Europe amid the greatest wave of refugees to the continent in decades. Right-wing British politician Nigel Farage warned last week there was cause for “very genuine fear” of extremists making their way into the EU, and called on citizens not to “allow compassion to imperil our safety,”
Top U.S. counterterrorism officials say they worry a potential terrorist could be hiding among refugeeswho are looking to come to the United States after escaping the brutal war in Syria.
“It’s clearly a population of concern,” the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Nicholas Rasmussen, told the House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday.
Committee Chairman Mike McCaul, R-Texas, went further, saying it would be a “huge mistake” to bring refugees from the conflict to the U.S. – even as an estimated 4 million children, women and men have been forced to flee Syria and another 7 million have been displaced from their homes there, unable to leave.
Senior officials leading the State Department’s refugee efforts say the U.S. government has a long history of caring for the innocent victims of war.
Hungary’s most watched national TV channel, M1, reported Tuesday that at least two “terrorists” were uncovered via photographs on social media after entering Europe as refugees.
“Islamist terrorists, disguised as refugees, have showed up in Europe. [The] pictures
The Hungarian channel broadcasted collections of photographs of the two men from social media. The first set depicted two individuals with weapons and the second set showed them smiling as they arrived in Europe.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said Wednesday that the current migration is a “disaster of biblical proportions” that poses an opportunity for terrorist groups such as ISIS to “infiltrate operatives among these refugees.”
“What we’re trying to do is weed out people who are liars, who are criminals or would-be terrorists,” a senior State Department official said.
Yet, as debate rages between politicians in Europe over how many they should take, nearby super-wealthy Gulf nations of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain have refused to offer sanctuary to a single Syrian refugee.
Amnesty International’s Head of Refugee and Migrants’ Rights, Sherif Elsayid-Ali, described their inaction as ‘shameful’.
He said: ‘The records of Gulf countries is absolutely appalling, in terms of actually showing compassion and sharing the responsibility of this crisis… It is a disgrace.’
Refugee crisis si going out of control from day to day and as you can all see not everybody is prepared to show compassion US, Arab States etc. but is it lack of compassion or just prudent thinking about possible security concerns and wellbeing of their own people, country and economic system.
Or they are just thinking ahead and managed to visualize the future happenings after all figurines are placed properly on a chess board.
